Admissibilité
En vertu de l’article 23 de la Charte canadienne des droits et libertés, les citoyens canadiens :
- dont la première langue apprise et encore comprise est le français;
OU
- qui ont reçu leur instruction, au niveau primaire, en français langue première au Canada
ont le droit de faire instruire leurs enfants dans une école du FrancoSud, aux niveaux primaire et secondaire.
De plus, les citoyens canadiens dont un enfant a reçu ou reçoit son instruction, au niveau primaire ou secondaire, en français langue première au Canada, ont le droit de faire instruire leurs enfants en français.
Eligibility
Under section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Canadian citizens:
- whose first language learned and still understood is French;
OR
- who have received their primary school instruction in Canada in a French as a first language school
have the right to have their children receive primary and secondary school instruction in a FrancoSud school.
In addition, Canadian citizens whose child has received or is receiving instruction, at the elementary or secondary level, in a French as a first language school in Canada, have the right to have all their children educated, at the elementary and secondary levels, in a FrancoSud school.
Cas exceptionnels
Dans l’esprit de l’article 23 de la Charte, qui est d’assurer la vitalité des communautés francophones en milieu minoritaire, et conformément à sa visée réparatrice, le conseil scolaire peut admettre à ses écoles :
- Les enfants dont les parents ou les grands-parents francophones désirent qu’ils réintègrent la culture et l’identité francophone. Il peut s’agir ici de parents qui n’ont pas eu la possibilité d’accéder à l’éducation francophone.
- Les enfants de parents francophones qui désirent maintenir la langue française, la culture et l’identité francophone de leurs enfants, par exemple les immigrants dont la première langue apprise et encore comprise est le français
Exceptional cases
In the spirit of section 23 of the Charter, which is to ensure the vitality of Francophone minority communities, and in accordance with its restorative aim, the school board may admit to its schools:
- Children whose Francophone parents or grandparents wish them to reintegrate the Francophone culture and identity. These may be parents who have not had the opportunity to access French-language education.
- Children of Francophone parents who wish to maintain the French language, the culture and Francophone identity of their children, for example immigrants whose first language learned and still understood is French.
